    Haneef charge 'politically motivate'

Good time will tell all. It is becoming increasingly apparent that political interference was pivotal in the Dr. Haneef debacle. Australia we were betrayed.

  2. Feb 02 '08

    Game Over

Dr Haneef is free to come back to Australia, to work in our ailing Hospitals which are in dire need of talented young doctors.

It is now indisputable that actions by the axis of fear, former Federal Minister Kevin Andrews and discredited Australian Federal Police Commissioner Mick Keelty were inexcusably WRONG!.

In late December the full bench of the Federal Court dismissed a Federal Howard Government appeal against an earlier court decision to set aside Kevin Andrews decision to revoke Dr Haneef's working visa. The new Rudd Federal Government wisely decided to not appeal to the High Court.

Stephen Keim SC, a man of conscious was cleared of professional misconduct by the Queensland Legal Services Commissioner for releasing a interview transcript between Police and Dr Haneef. Something he was forced to do after a biased media campaign by the AFP.

Case closed. How can we ensure innocent people's lives aren't blighted by the legitimate need to defend against terrorism? The Dr Haneef case exemplifies why the erosion of the founding principles of our open and free society should not be tolerated.

    Bye Bye Kevin

I'm a tad late to the party, the Howard Government has been booted from office and Kevin Andrews is no longer a Minister. The resignation letter has been slightly updated so that we can all keep telling Kevin what a tool he is.

    NeoRacism

I struggle to comprehend how in this day and age, the Minister for Immigration Kevin Andrews, can publicly single out an entire Australian community and with a broad brush taint them all as criminals or as persons which don't 'integrate' into Australian society. After Pauline Hanson stepped up to support the misguided statement by the Minister, I have no reluctance in stating that Kevin Andrews MP is a racist!

People and communities need to be different! I don't want a Government measuring how well I 'integrate', there is no such metric. Political cover should not be afforded to those who harbour the nastiest of racist sentiments.

Alas, the last pages of this disgusting Ministership are being written, history will show that Kevin Andrews was a very sad chapter in the rich multi cultural affairs of our proud and compassionate nation. You Sir have failed as a Minister. Good-bye, good riddance and good night!

    McFarlane Prize 07

Thank you to the judges of the McFarlane Prize for choosing this website as the 2007 winner.

I am proud to be part of an industry, which not only recognises technical excellence but also rewards the translation of one's social conscience to the web.

Napoleon Dynamite is a cracker of a movie and I also own a 'Vote for Pedro' t-shirt, this alone gives me reason enough to support Nick Pellow's website, Vote For Kevin.

    Jedi Spender

The verdict is in, Federal Court Judge Jeffrey Spender has quashed the revocation of Dr Haneef's visa.

Surely now the Minister will tend his resignation in acknowledgement of the Government's mishandling of an innocent individual.

Watching an interesting debate on the ABC tonight made me realise that -- as alarming as it may be -- this fiasco is only a taste of what's to come unless we make a stand against the erosion of our civil liberties.

    Word Spreads, Take A Stand

A smile crept across my face as the count trickled past 100, there is something soothing about that big red counter, just like staring into a big old fire.

Several forum discussions have sprung up as people started linking to this site. One such forum discussed concerns by people on having their names listed on the signatures list. Here was the well placed reply by a member of the forum "If the very thought that this could show up on a government record makes you think twice about doing it, you've got double the reason to start protesting against the government we currently have.".

In other news, the good people at PerthNorg posted a story about this site.

    My Identity - Shock Horror

Pleasantly surprised with the front page today, 50+ resignation requests sent to the Minister. Thanks to all who have used the site so far. I have updated the 'About' page to include my full name after advice from a respectable friend concerned about the credibility of this site without my name. So there you go, I am Michael Koukoullis, now for the sound of secret Ministerial forces knocking down my door…

    5am … dawn calls … 2 letters

Spent the majority of the night spreading the word through mailing lists, blogs and people 'in-the-know'. Not resting until the 'resignation' count picks up from a measly 2! Politics is a hard business, no time to sleep, but I'm not in politics duh.

My frustration with the Australian Government and in particular Kevin Andrews MP boiled over at breakfast. I believe Kevin Andrews MP should resign, I constructed this website so Australia and the world can request his resignation.
